Hi, I'm Nicole.

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Hello!

Finding a therapist that feels like the right fit you is so important. Below, I share a little bit about me and I invite you to reach out if you’d like to connect!

I pursued a career as a therapist primarily because I have always loved forming authentic connections with other people. I have a deep interest in psychology and am fascinated by the complexity of the human mind and experience. Humans are social creatures, and forming relationships creates a source of support, a sense of belonging, encourages resilience, and helps foster growth.

It is truly an honour to have chosen a profession where I have the opportunity to help create an environment for others where we can work towards goals that are meaningful for them. I truly love this work, and it shows in how present I am with my clients.

You can book a free 15 minute consultation call at the link below if you are interested, as it is a great way to see if you would like to move forward together.

How do I help?

I take a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, tailored to each individual client.

The approaches we will use to work towards your goals depend on a range of factors, including any previous experiences with therapy (what was helpful versus not), the concerns presented, and your response to the process as we move through it. I will collaborate with you to gather your perspective on our direction, given you are the expert of your own experience, and appreciate us working together towards unique goals that have been discussed. I invite ongoing dialogue to ensure I am providing the best support I can.

I recognize the benefit to structure in the therapeutic process, while also see the importance of being open to changing our approach as needed, as it is hard to predict how the journey will unfold.

I always take a trauma-informed approach. I primarily, but not exclusively, use Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). I also incorporate somatic (body-based) techniques, given the incredibly strong mind-body connection.

What can you expect from therapy with me?

My first priority is to create an environment that is as comfortable as possible for every client, and to aid the connection between us. Given the discomfort that often accompanies the therapeutic process (or any change, for that matter), it is important to me that this is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and mutually understood and agreed-upon goals.

I invite feedback so I can be made aware if there is any way I can better assist the movement towards those goals.

I recognize that therapy can elicit a range of emotions in the context of discussing distressing topics or potentially feeling confronted by some realizations within appointments, and it is important to me that we end the session in a way that helps clients integrate back into their daily lives between sessions. I have many ideas of what this can look like, and, together, we will determine what best serves this piece for you (and can even try multiple different things to see what helps, which simultaneously helps build your coping toolkit).

You can expect to be respected and accepted for your authentic self. You can expect that I will always hold space for your experience, and strive to truly hear and understand your perspective and concerns.

I am a therapist,
but I am also a human.

I consider being outside crucial for my well-being, whether being in the mountains in B.C., or enjoying the stunning Ontario skies.

I am an avid cold dipper and an advocate for cold therapy benefits.

Some of my favourite moments are spent having quality time with my very sweet and cuddly senior doggie.

I enjoy learning about ways to best support my health and longevity and prioritize my sleep as well as my nutrition (eat as many whole foods as possible) in pursuit of this.

My core values include compassion, authenticity, curiosity, balance, and collaboration.
