Frequently Asked Questions
Many extended health care benefit plans cover the services of a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Please confirm with your benefits provider that this coverage is available to you. If so, my invoice will be able to be submitted for reimbursement to your health care benefits provider.
If you do not have benefits, you may be able to claim therapy expenses as a health-related tax deduction.
We always collaborate with our clients about treatment goals and track progress towards those goals. This means that your therapist will make decisions with you about your goals in therapy, how to achieve them, and when to terminate therapy. Everyone’s path is unique, but your own therapeutic progress and trajectory can be discussed with your therapist at any time.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It has been shown to offer rapid improvement in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. It is particularly useful for nervous system dysregulation (for instance, experiencing physical symptoms of anxiety or trauma), as these can be difficult to treat with “talk therapy” alone. Virtual EMDR is offered by Megan.
